More and more of the Sony freebies are turning out to be US only. Quite frustrating.
But thanks for posting the link. |

I agree Croptop, harder to source when living in UK or not in the US anyway.

Not available to peeps in the UK either. Which rather begs the question of who it is available to?

The kindle version is not available for customers in Australia either.
Maybe only available for people from Greenland, Monaco and Solomon Islands |

I'm noticing a lot of freebie titles showing up like that in the Kindle store. I'm thinking it has something to do with making it appear in the store without allowing people to download it, then all they do is flip a switch one day and enable it for people to purchase it??

Links only work with Sony's web page, not their software. You have to manually search by title, author or ISBN to find a book.
Bargains at _usually_ on the Bargain Priced page, linked from the store's home page. |

Thanks Koland, I was afraid that that would be the answer. Boy, talk about making your software hard to work with - good thing Sony does hardware instead

You aren't kidding. I got a free book from them - first, you download the software (already had it), log in, enter the code to redeem the coupon, the MANUALLY search for the book by title, find it, add it to your cart, open the cart and THEN you see the coupon has taken effect and it'll be a free purchase. Why the don't just download it as soon as you enter the code, I don't know (at least iTunes does this right).

The Sony newsletter must have some special links in it because when you click on ebook links it launches the reader software and goes to the ebook in the reader software rather than just using your web browser.
Koland, I have never used a coupon to get a freebie, I have just added them to my cart and checked out and it downloads automatically to the reader library. The only time I have used a code is to get 20% off or to register a gift certificate. Is this what you were talking about ? |
