Smile Sony PRS-600 PDF ZOOM

They almost got it perfect - the zoom feature is a nice add to the 600 it really makes pdf's (graphic based pdf's) usable on the 600 - You can just use your finger and drag the screen around (fairly peppy seems to keep up nicely) The only thing i would change is the have big scroll arrows on the scrren which burn a lot of real estate and are superfulous due to the ability to simply drag the page around - at least an option to turn them off would be great!

ps the 600 contrast is in my book about halfway between the 700 and 505 - a manageable tradeoff for the added touch features. pdf zoom etc

just like the 505 ie pdf reflow if you go to medium large etc, but you can also use the zoom feature which keeps the formatting intact and simply zooms into the page allowing you to pan around

page turns and general page refreshes/menus seem much faster on the 600 than the 505

This would be a feature they really ought to port into a new 505 firmware.

They supporting zooming via buttons for pictures on the 505 anyways... the same facility for manga, medieval codices, and other such things would be nice.

What I don't like about this feature is the fact that this zoom is forgotten when you turn a page and you have to do the zooming right over againn. At least things will be that way if they haven't changed the way it works on the 700. And yes, the 505 hardware isn't strong enough to support the zooming (and there's no touchscreen, so no way to move a page around easily!)

Does it keep zoom setting when you turn a page? Because 700 desn't keep it. If you need zoom in order to read a pdf file, you have to zoom in each time you turn page.

I have not watched your vid yet, but I was wondering if the pdf viewer supports the annotate functions of the book reader? Haven't been able to find that out yet.

There is more glare then the 505 but not nearly as bad as the 700 - and you can read in the sun - but just like the 505 you have to hold at the right angle so the sun does not bounce directly into your eyes
