Most of the time, when an author signs a movie deal, he does not have any say in the movie. This doesn't mean he can't come out publicly and criticize the movie.

I saw him interviewed about it recently. Reading between the lines, he more or less said that he had no choice in the selection, and that he was pleased a name had been chosen for the role. I could detect in his response that he wasn't overly happy about it, though.

That probably makes more sense. I couldn't understand him being 'thrilled' with the choice of Cruise for his Reacher character.

When I watched the trailer, in the shot where they are standing around, I thought, wow, they really beefed up Cruise cause he looked so tall and big. Haha. That was the OTHER guy facing Cruise.

It seems that this isn't a TC appreciation thread and the main bitch is his size not his acting skills, seeing what can be achieved with smoke and mirrors in movies nowadays I will be curious to see the end result if TC is cast as Reacher.

We know what can be achieved with smoke and mirrors but from the trailer it looks like they didn't even try (or they went for the opposite effect). Watch the trailer:


There is this one scene at 1:18 where he is about to hit a guy over the head. The guy is on his knees and his head reaches TC's shoulder.
