Problems with commas in author field when importing

I downloaded some books from Feedbooks.com and imported them into Calibre. The author field, which should look like "Poe, Edgar Allan" instead looks like "Poe & Edgar Allan". Is there a way to fix this or should I file a bug report?

Sounds like an issue at the Feedbooks end with the metadata for that book.

In Calibre, the '&' is used to separate authors, so Calibre would think there were 2 authors, one called 'poe' and one called 'edgar allen'. This can be corrected by using the option to edit the metadata within Calibre.

Yeah the author field should contain the author in canonical form. There is usually a separate field for the sorted form of the author name. You should bug feedbooks to make use of the fields correctly.

Sure I'll fix this. Since we only store ePub files for a short period of time (as a cache), all our files will be updated.
