Much cooler today with some clouds overhead and a nice breeze.

83F (28C) and only suppose to be about mid 90's (35C) today. Finally, cool enough to get the lawn mowed.

Getting much cooler overnight. Low last night was 10C (50F). High around 23C (73F).

The weather's been pretty decent the last couple of days. It's getting ready to storm now; there are rumblings of thunder in the distance. I let the dogs out a few minutes ago before all this started, and would have loved to have gone out with them for a bit of reading on the deck, but when I did that a couple of days ago around this time the mosquitoes ate me alive. So for the last couple of days, everything on my plate has been smothered in garlic. If someone gave me ice cream and cake, I swear I'd cover those in garlic. By this time next week, you won't want to be sitting next to me on a bus, but hopefully the mosquitoes won't either. I don't care. I'm already married and don't need to smell good to catch another mate.

We in NC are keeping all digits crossed that Isaac heads to the Gulf, and not up the coast!

It's strange because we've actually been declared a disaster area because of drought, and yet it seems as if we have had lots of rain to me. The mosquitoes are eating us alive!

Last night it rained practically all night. Glorious, beautiful rain; the kind that meant I could make less than half of my normally appointed rounds at work because each one involves opening outdoor electrical panels.

I love it when it rains on graveyard shift!

In Bizarro World, Friday morning starts tonight at eleven-thirty. Here's hoping for more rain!
