I'd recommend a Kindle, to be quite honest. I have never had a moment's trouble with my Kindle, and I've had it much longer than the Kobo. Some people don't like Amazon, but they still seem to have done a better job than anyone else. The only issue would be that it uses a different format of ebooks, and probably won't read the ones you already have.
