Change request: Default Preference
Could the default viewer for AZW3 files be changed to be the internal viewer? It's an odd inconsistency that the default viewer for AZW and MOBI and PRC is the internal viewer, but not for AZW3.


(And azw3 should probably be above MOBI in the default Preferred input format order too.)

Are you requesting that New installs have this as Default?

Once installed, these preferences are YOURS to change and will not be normally replaced.

Could be that more people that have AZW3 might prefer the Kindle app for viewing? Could have been a coin toss

The default viewer for azw3 is the internal viewer. However, if you happened to have changed tose settings in the past before azw3 existed, then your saved settings will override the default. For all new calibre installs, the default applies.

Thanks. I'm glad to hear it's the default for new installs.

I ask because I've seen several people get confused, because calibre (not Kindle for PC) was their default application in Windows for opening azw3 files, so the azw3 would load into calibre, and then they'd double-click it to view it, and it would re-load again into calibre, ad infinitum.
