Firefox 1.0 released today!

The latest and greatest, retail-ready 1.0 version of Mozilla's Firefox browser is available today! According to its home page, Firefox empowers you to browse faster, more safely and more efficiently than with any other browser. Firefox 1.0 is available now for Windows, Linux, and Mac. Get it directly from the Mozilla.org FTP server!

I'm a Firefox devotee (just upgraded from the Firefox 1.0 Preview version this morning), because I love A) security, B) tabbed browsing, and most of all, C) all the great extensions that really make Firefox functional and unique! If you haven't tried Firefox, I highly suggest giving it a whirl.

Ahhhh great news!!!!! Diva, did you upgrade to 1.0 already? What about existing 1.0PR extensions, will they break?

Of the 1/2 dozen or so extentions that I have, none of them work with 1.0. My favorite themes also are NG. I am sure their creators will get new versions out soon.

This is why I downloaded 1.0, but will wait for 1.01 (or whatever the next version will be) before upgrading.

I upgraded, and all but 4 of my extensions work. The only one I am currently really, really missing is the Googlebar.

But otherwise, everything is doing OK. I am sure that we'll see updated extensions VERY soon for the ones that don't come over from the 1.0PR version.

Yes that's right. It took merely 2-3 days from 0.something to 1.0PR for all my extensions to be upgraded.
