Dutch ebooks?
A friend has a K3 and loves it. Her problem is that she's Dutch and would like to read Dutch ebooks but they seem hard to find. Is there a good source out there? is there something special you need to type into amazon to restrict it's search to Dutch ebooks?
Thanks for any suggestions. Mike PS She doesn't live in Holland so Dutch books don't appear by default. |

As far as I know, Amazon's selection of Dutch titles is pretty slim. Your friend could try bol.com, which caters for the Dutch market. The only problem is that I believe they mainly sell ebooks in the epub format. She would have to purchase and download these books using the Adobe Digital Editions software, remove any DRM on the books and then convert them to mobi (the Kindle format) using calibre.

There have been persistent rumors that Amazon is working on a Dutch web store. According to the Dutch site tweakers.net, Amazon might be opening a Dutch website this fall. However, logistics and fulfillment will most likely be handled by Amazon Germany and/or Amazon UK.

Here are a few that you might try. None of them seem to do Kindle books in particular, so she would have to do the DRM removal and Calibre conversion (as per Veezh, above).
http://www.bol.com/nl/boeken/nederla...ken/index.html http://www.ebook.nl/store/ http://www.libris.nl/?boeken http://www.eboekenweb.nl/nederlandse-ebooks/ I've not direct experience with any of these. Mike |

This is indeed the only way right now, AFAIK. There are plenty of Dutch books legally available, but they're all in epub format, so to get them onto your Kindle you'll have to remove the DRM.

I also found these Belgian sites that have Dutch (Flemish) titles, but, again, no sign of any Kindle editions:

Try http://www.gratis-boek.nl. Here you can find a lot of free Dutch ebooks, also for kids. I'm not sure if they have ebooks for kindle but I've seen a lot of epub and pdf ebooks....
