Well, if they made it perfect why would we buy the next model?

Some observations on the Odyssey, in random order:

1) You can hide the header (it displays the book title) and/or the status bar (it displays the reading progress). So, the "screen consumption" can be adjusted by the user.

2) You can tap to turn page. Personally I do not use this feature that much, because of the side buttons (much better placed than those on the SONY PRS-T1).

3) The screen of the Odyssey is a Pearl e-ink screen, with a capacitive layer. The grid is visible only at very low angle (from the screen plane) and with very bright lightning. It is not noticeable during while normally reading, when your sight direction is roughly perpendicular to the screen plane. Overall, the screen is slightly darker than SONY PRS-T1 and Kindle 3, but it does not hinder the reading experience at all.

4) Fonts: on the Odyssey you can load your own fonts, so you can even copy PMN Caecilia (the Kindle one), if you like it. Moreover, the Odyssey can override the EPUB CSS, justify/sillabate the text, and it also handles ligatures nicely.

5) You can copy your own dictionaries on the Odyssey (altough it is amenable of some improvements), that you can create by your own (with my Penelope script).

Overall, I enjoy the Odyssey more than the T1 or the K3 for its superior reading experience, as you can customize it more than the other two. Unfortunately, Bookeen made a couple of very bad design/manufacture choices: the microUSB and power switch are plain mistakes, the USB driver is buggy, and it lacks a search function and a "back-in-history" button.

What do you mean? Do you mean back as in going somewhere from the table of contents and then wanting to go back? Swiping upwards does that. It even works on the Orizon.

Google for "PMN Caecilia". You might want to look for free fonts similar to PMN Caecilia, as the latter is not for free.

Back-in-history: I meant that I would like to have a "back" function (through a dedicated physical button or a sw menu) to go back to the previous reading point. This feature is useful when visiting footnotes in ebooks, and you want to go back to the text you were previously reading. (It can be achieved with a suitable back-link in the ebook, but not all the publishers do their job well...). This feature might also be used as "up in the hierarchy" when using menus or browsing the library.

Yup, but I would like to have it as a physical buttor.
I do not really like touching the screen (that's why I do not care about the capacitive layer of the Odyssey compared to an IR one: when I need to navigate the library/menus/etc. I always use a capacitive stylus).

I have just realized tha swiping upward works while browing the library as well; I have always thought tha it was working only while reading an EPUB...

Thanks bob123!

(But I would still prefer a physical button for this "back" function !)

I suppose it might be nicer. At least it has page turn buttons!

What stylus do you use? I didn't realize you could use one with the Odyssey.

Yes, you can use any capacitive stylus tha works for smartphones/tablets. I use a $5 one bought online in the UK, similar to this Acase capacitive stylus.

And it doesn't damage the screen at all?

Most of capacitive stylus are soft, so they don't damage screens.
