Change in Search Features?

Is it my imagination or did the search GUI lose some functionality? I seem to remember that when I clicked on the "Browse Books By Tags" button that it allowed me to construct complex searches by clicking on different tags, formats, etc. For instance, I could click once on unread under tags to get a plus and then click twice on .fb2 under formats. The books displayed would all have the unread tag and be in a format other than .fb2. I seem to recall it being a handy way to construct complex searches without worrying about syntax.

Now, clicking on anything removes what is currently in the search bar and replaces it with what was just clicked. I realize that I can construct my own complex searches by putting, say, search:"tag:=Unread and not format:=FB2" in the search bar. Thanks to Starson, I can even save this search for future use. But is there any chance that the search feature could go back to the way I think I remember it?

Just hold down the control key when selecting tags. I agree with you that it would be more intuitive if it defaulted to this mode.

Thank you. It didn't occur to me to try it with anything held down.

I'd love to take credit, but that one's not mine. The credit for saved search goes to Chaley.

I also agree with you, which is why it was that way originally. But apparently a lot of people get confused when clicking on a second entry causes the list of books to go blank (I kept getting tickets about it, so on the principle of causing me the least pain, I changed it).

This way I only hear from advanced users, who are a much smaller group

I'm glad to see I'm not crazy. I too went through trying to figure out why every time I selected a second tag the first disappeared. I could have sworn it was the other way around. I was just about to drop a post or ticket advising that I thought it was broke when I decided to (like I wish everyone would) read the manual.

So on the principle of causing you the least pain, I think you made the right call.
