Clean my Mac has solved the issue on MacOS
There is a tool addin for ccleaner as well now. Clearclean has an extension for BSD (non-Mac) users Problem has been solved for the majority of minority of users annoyed with maintaining “deleted” files by 3rd parties. |

I tried duplicating an existing book, then deleting the duplicate, and I'm still not seeing that option. The old solution, for all its flaws, made it possible to restore accidentally-deleted files and retype the metadata, this does not. I am on Calibre 5.44.0. I cannot use Calibre 6 on this system. P.S. Now they're showing up in the system trash. Not sure why they weren't before. Last edited by MarjaE; 08-29-2023 at 03:51 PM. |

For what it’s worth:
I just created a regenerating symlink on the desktop: linking to the calibre trash folder. Mainly because I don’t close the app so even the automated tool offered above doesn’t help me. Each morning I drag the link to the trash bin. Then empty it. Files I wished to delete in the first place now only take one drag and drop action to get rid of. |

@cor go back to the other thread and answer our questions so we can try to help you solve this. Otherwise, why should we bother?
