Query about 2 books by Ken Follett

A Dangerous Fortune and Fall of the Giants both seem to have a banker family called Pilaster.. Are these two books related in any way?

Hmmm.....I just finished Fall of Giants last week and I don't remember any character named Pilaster. How often is he mentioned in the book?

I did a word search, and the name "Pilaster" does not appear in Fall of Giants; neither does the word "banker".
