Unable to get new M92 to update
Greetings
I have been trying to get my new m92 to update to the 20131204 version. The unit is using 201304074 version. I have tried to different SD cards and a dozen attempts. What's the secret? Thanks Jeff |

update
Of course I followed the instructions. The boot screen indicates that it is looking for update then load the OS. I have tried three different SD cards.

The SD card have to be formatted in any particular manner? I have tried FAT32 and exFAT. I noticed that when I use the exFat format, the boot screen indicates 'No Update Found" whereas FAT32 does not display that. No file appears under exFAT whereas it does appear under FAT32.
The other issue is the clock is always changing time zones or something. I have set it to my time zone and correct time but it keeps changing. |

I used an 1gb FAT16 formatted Sd card.
Except for the multitasking feature, I haven't found other changes, but I hadn't enough time to check and try. |

Just to say ta the update is done without problem : put the file (zipped) in the root of my SD, shutdown the device, push the joystick, power on and wait.
I haven't test the update. |

@Emoo Exactly what does it? Does it search for the update file and then boot normally? What it says during the boot with the joystick pressed? Sorry, but I don't know how I can help you. Is your software device/configuration different from mine? I had the previous update (Update 2013-07-17) with no third parties software or other patches (like the one for the multitasking), clean SD with just the lastest firmware zip file in the root. |

I have seen the time and date being reset but can't remember if this is fixed in later versions. Installed software (that you have added yourself) will be gone too. Book, music or such storage will still be there. Cheers! CJ |

I need little help from users of Onyx Boox M92 "black edition" (bought through Artatech).
I updated to latest artatech's firmware 20131018 without problem. I wanted to use booxtor's updates, therefore I installed M92 Unlocker (by seaniko7) However, now it is not possible to get M92 to update ANY firmware (I have tried booxtor's 2013-07-17, booxtor's 2013-12-04, artatech's 20131129). M92 just says "no update found" and I must reset it 2 times to continue in normal work. Could you help me to revert my M92 to initial state? I need a copy of update kernel from original M92 "black edition" (it is 3MB of memory overwritten by unlocker and I made backup of wrong part of memory). Please run the script copy_updatekernel_to_sd.oar from SD card of your M92 "black edition" and send me the resulting file "copy_of_updatekernel.img" (written to folder / on your SD card). The script contains command: dd if=/dev/mmcblk0 of=/media/sd/copy_of_updatekernel.img bs=512 skip=12288 count=5857 which skips 12288 blocks of memory and copies next 5857 blocks to ouput file.
