The application reader has stopped unexpectedly
My T2 still allows me to set notes and bookmarks. But when I try to retrieve them I get the error message
Sorry! The application Reader has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close. I've tried to return to default settings, but that doesn't work either. Can anyone help? |

I don't do notes, but shutting down the reader usually stops that error message. Also I believe you can use calibre to retrieve your notes.

I don't do notes either, but I sometimes get that error when I look up a word in the dictionary, then try to exit back to the book I was reading. Once it happens, it will keep happening every time I use the dictionary until I completely shut down and restart the reader.

Thanks to you both, but I've completely shut down in the past - even not used the reader for several days - and it didn't help.
Medard suggested in a private email that it might be due to a poorly formed epub that the reader couldn't cope with. So I deleted some suspicious ebooks, and without shutting down did a note on an ebook I know validates, and closed the ebook. I then opened the ebook, and could read the note. I then did a book mark, closed the ebook, re opened it, and could find the bookmark with Notes. So now I can use Notes on my T2 to proof read the ebooks I design. Thanks again, Medard. If I get the problem again I may validate every ebook before I load it on to my T2. |

It's good practice to validate your epub before loading it... saves lots of trouble.. personally I run all mine through a calibre conversion to strip off any css built in fonts and to reset the base font size.. you can also use SIGIL if you wish .. I also do a power recycle once a week or so....
