Minor Query

Hi All,

Assume product.....Thank you Kovid

I'm new to the product and the forum.

Converted a pdf file to mobi - after conversion some words are missing letter(s). For example "coffee" becomes "co ee" or "really" comes out as "rea ly" or "compelled" becomes compel ed". The source pdf is pretty good.

Am I doing something wrong? Is there some tweak that I've missed?

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Highlight one of those words in the original PDF, copy it and paste it into a text document. See if your pasted text has the error in it. I suspect you will find the error is in the PDF, not Calibre. You may not see it when you look at the PDF, because you are seeing a picture image of the page with the correct text, while the text you highlight and copy from the PDF is bad OCR text. Calibre can only see the true text, and if it's bad OCR text, that's what you get.
