new install: can't convert to mobi

I just installed Calibre on a mac (OS 10.6.9). I'm having trouble converting to the MOBI format. After running into errors, I am simply trying to convert the "Calibre Quick Start Guide". I can convert it to other formats, but not to MOBI. When I try, I get the following error:

Sigh, I am having a *really* bad month. 0.7.42 that fixes this regression will be available in an hour or so.

Didn't get the chance to do this earlier: this problem took me completely by surprise, but thank you for getting a fix out for it so quickly!

For once procrastination paid off.

I was using 7.40 and saw the 7.41 update and decided to wait until later. Opened Calibre again a couple hours later and 7.42 was already up. After reading the change log, I was glad I waited a little while.

P.S. The expanded heuristic controls are great!

Speaking from my 60 years experience i can assure you it will get better. Then it will get worse again....

Appreciate your hard work.
