This is one of my pet peeves, the "time hops" make no sense, save nothing, and only serve to confuse the elderly, I wish there were a signature drive to stop this nonsense.

Yes, and if I remember rightly, I once crossed a time zone by going to a different town within the state of Kentucky.

And I once went from Utah to Arizona, and was there for two days before it dawned on me that they were in different time zones (or maybe one was in DST and the other wasn't, I don't recall).

I believe Arizona doesn't do DST. I lived in Indianapolis for a few years and they didn't do DST and it was great. I wish we'd all stop doing it. It's been horrible getting my kids up this week!

Couldn't the Kindle just check the local time, each time it accesses WiFi?

I hate DST. I think they government does it because it gives them a woody to make almost 400,000,000 jump when they say.
