Free on Amazon today - The Killing Game by J A Kerley
'Detective Carson Ryder’s reputation is on the line when a sociopathic serial killer embarks on a personal vendetta, constructing his crimes to hit Carson’s weak spot.

He’s coming to get you…

After a humiliating encounter with a cop, Romanian immigrant Gregory Nieves launches a vendetta against the Mobile Police Department, Alabama. Nieves can’t fight a department, so he selects one man who symbolizes all men in blue: Carson Ryder, the MPD’s specialist in bizarre and twisted crimes.
Carson has never seen a killing spree like this one: Nothing connects the victims, the murder weapon is always different, and the horrific crime scenes are devoid of evidence. It almost seems he’s being taunted. Even laughed at.
Carson doesn’t know it yet, but he is caught up in a sadistic game of life and death. And there can only be one victor…'

Sainsbury has C J Sansom's Matthew Shardlake series at £0.99 each at the moment in the UK.

http://www.sainsburysebooks.co.uk/co...r-one-day-only

Set in Tudor England, with Henry VIII on the throne, they follow the fortunes of a member of the bar. Excellent historical mystery stories. I've only read the first two so far, but highly recommended. If I hadn't already bought them, I'd buy them like a shot.

1. Dissolution
2. Dark Fire
3. Sovereign
4. Revelation
5. Heartstone

(Amazon UK seem to be matching the offer.)

Today's Amazon UK "Kindle Daily Deal" includes 6 books in the "Detective Jackson" series by L.J. Sellers for 99p each. The books are:
  • Passions of the Dead
  • The Lethal Effect
  • Secrets to Die For
  • The Gauntlet Assassin
  • Liars, Cheaters & Thieves
  • The Baby Thief

Not an author I've previously encountered, but all her books seem to be favourably reviewed.

Looks interesting....

In Cold Blonde by James L. Conway $0.00

Quote:
Alice was hot. Blonde hair. Green eyes. Great body. And smart. Only one problem, she was a cold-blooded murderer. But Alice wasn’t targeting just anyone. She had a list of men who had to die. Men who deserved to suffer because of what they did to her.

The cops called her the Lady in Red. And two of LAPD’s best homicide cops were trying to stop her, Ryan and his beautiful partner Syd. They were ambitious, talented detectives with a secret -- they were also lovers. But the secrets didn’t stop there. Ryan and Syd also hid deadly secrets from each other.

In Cold Blonde is a fast-paced, sex-fueled thriller packed with captivating characters unexpected plot twists and a 47 million dollar surprise that changes everything.

It may be.

When I first purchased my Kobo, I specifically wanted to set it up as a UK account. That way I'm covered by Amazon (USA) and Kobo (non-USA).
