Help with Categories

My categories have decided to start sorting by weird number groups instead of by the alphabet like I had it. This started after I downloaded a new version. How do I get the categories back the way they were. It has affected all my categories not just the authors, it has changed my series, tags, rating....

At the bottom of the List area

Make it say something other that 'by popularity'
