DOSBox and SDL are the first things I got running in my debian loop mount on my K3, but DOSBox had a problem with white letters on a black background, where it would end up with black on black (barely readable under bright light). After some messing around, I gave up on it. So basicaly, we both had it working (mostly) but problems with the display updates...
I tried rebuilding SDL again later after I understood the framebuffer updates better, but I did not put in enough effort to get it actually working... Last edited by geekmaster; 03-12-2013 at 11:00 PM. |

Yeah... I have attached the supporting libs... and the unpatched but runnable binary. THIS BINARY WON'T DO WHAT YOU EXPECT - OF THAT I AM CERTAIN!!! For the next brave soul to save some pain.. The main bin needs patching to have the right title (I use my go-game wangle to show this on a k5 without patching) and to ACTUALLY show up the text. (black on black here) But it runs natively with this lot at least. Enjoy. the next poor soul.... Perhaps I WILL bother to repatch it all at some point. Don't say I never give you nothing. Code:

Why does no-one tell me these things? Ill pack it up again later. Last edited by twobob; 08-21-2013 at 11:39 AM. Reason: libogg.so.0 |

It can reduce screen flickering, but it can also result in a slow DOSBox. # fullresolution: What resolution to use for fullscreen: original or fixed size (e.g. 1024x768). # Using your monitor's native resolution with aspect=true might give the best results. # If you end up with small window on a large screen, try an output different from surface. # windowresolution: Scale the window to this size IF the output device supports hardware scaling. # (output=surface does not!) # output: What video system to use for output. # Possible values: surface, overlay, opengl, openglnb. # autolock: Mouse will automatically lock, if you click on the screen. worth a look also I guess Okay so I went with.. http://www.panayotis.com/prog/scripts/pydosbox/ and a tiny patch to it to set the title... Code:
self.window.set_title("L:A_N:application_ID:pydosbox") here and The rc.lua reference and http://www.pygtk.org/articles/applic..._and_Glade.htm and http://www.learningpython.com/2006/0...gtk-and-glade/ for tips Last edited by twobob; 03-13-2013 at 02:59 PM. |

okay...
I just checked.. works without Xephyr too.. would mean a dosbox level patch to get it to top level of course though |

I was wondering about developing a "general purpose gtk wrapper" to elevate these type of non-title supporting applications to the top level in awesome.
I believe baf already did something similar with embedding in his kterm application with matchbox-keyboard. Thoughts on that anyone? |

seems like you can just
[root@kindle bin]# nano /mnt/us/home/root/.pydosbox to set up the games. lipc-set-prop com.lab126.pillow disableEnablePillow disable is obviously helpful too (thanks Eureka) I'll see if the colours work best on Awesome or Xephyr... or if there is no difference at some point Last edited by twobob; 03-13-2013 at 06:49 PM. |

Wow. 7 whole votes. split 50% on those that had a strong opinion.
Guess the interest is just not there. I'll bin it then, another one for my "personal stash" it seems. |
