Question Ebook
I have just been given an ebook for xmas. Is this the same as a kindle does it take the same formats as kindles? Any help would be appreciated.

An eBook Reader? What brand, what model, what does it say on the box? There are millions of eBooks and hundreds of eBook Readers. We need a little more information to be able to help you. Welcome to the forum, by the way.

As DaleDe already said, more info would be helpful!

An ebook is an electronic book (versus the pbook => paper book). An ereader, or ebook reader is the device with which you can read ebooks.

A Kindle is one of many ebook readers. And only Kindles take the Kindle formats. Unless you got a tablet with either Ios or Android. Then you can install the Kindle App, which will allow you to read books from amazon as well.
