AGH! what could I have on my laptop?
I started out trying to install Office which apparently took a runner the last time my system crashed. I was informed I didn't have Vista , so I'm trying to reinstall that. it says I can't do the custom install because I only have 17 of 745GB available. I've looked in uninstall programs for sneaky little trojans, but I'm not finding anything.

1. What OS is/was on your laptop?
2. Can you get to your Control Panel? 3. Were you running any anti-virus or anti-malware program before the crash? |

In your CP, if you right click on your C drive for properties, what % full/empty does it show?

I'm not familiar with Vista, but I know that a major system crash can generate huge dump files - that may be filling your drive.
After the crash did you try System Restore? (or the Vista version of it?) |

Was Vista running again - after the crash - until you tried to install Office?

Go to My Computer, right-click on your C: drive, and select Properties. There should be a button on the General tab that says "Disk Cleanup" - it will find quite a bit of junk when run.

I purchased a few external HDs from Walmart to store all of my pictures, songs, etc. Clears up a lot of space and it keeps the files safe from crashes.
