It would be awesome if someone would add Nifty's instructions to the wiki. I'd do it but I'm lazy and/or I'd just screw it up.

NOT WORKING FOR ME. I did everything correct but the second update with the reginfo.ini and "update_reginfo_0.1_k3_2.5_install.bin" file fails.

Note: I used the reginfo.ini file as provided, only removed the double quotes.

I have Kindle DX US Version 2.5.2 updated on 27-06-2010

ANY HELP PLEASE !!!

It didn't work, because you removed double quotes.
Do not remove existing double quotes, and do not add any extra double qoutes - and everything will be fine.

i don´t know why but mine´s (DX US living in Chile) doesn´t show device name under settings, what could be wrong??

Hope somebody could help me, i really need the disabled features !

Dear Nifty,

thanks for a great idea to register kindle via USB

one problem: rapidshare server is not responding, thus reginfo_update is not accesible.

Can you place the file in a new place?
