Kostenlose Klassiker im Kindle Shop
Am 16.3. hat Amazon hunderte von kostenlosen Klassikern der "german edition" hinzugefügt. Sind etliche Gurken dabei, aber auch einige ordentlich formatierte Bücher. Gut formatierte Bücher habe ich allerdings noch gar nicht gefunden.

Aber der Komfort ist natürlich groß: Auf Kaufen klicken und schon wird das Buch auf den Kindle übertragen.

Durchsuchen kann man diese Reihe am einfachsten, wenn man nach Publikationsdatum sortiert.

Bisher waren in allen diesen Klassikern die Umlaute defekt, so macht das leider gar keinen Spaß...

Bei mir nicht. Weder auf dem K3 noch auf dem Kindle for Mac.

Bei welchen Titeln hast Du das Problem? Bei mir ist zum Beispiel "Casanovas Heimfahrt" von Schnitzler, Karl Mays "Durch die Wüste" oder Nietzsches "Die Geburt der Tragödie" mit korrekten Umlauten.

Habe mir die Bücher aber bisher auch nur im Kindle for Windows angesehen. Werde sie mal auf meinen DX kopieren und gucken, was dann passiert. Habe das Problem aber mit anderen deutschen Titeln auf dem PC nicht.

Also bei mir sind die Umlaute defekt, sowohl im Kindle for Windows, im Mobipocket Reader, als auch auf dem Kindle...

Wie gesagt, hab schon mehrfach auch deutsche Bücher bei Amazon runtergeladen, die hatten das Problem alle nicht.

cyr0n, hast Du, seit es das letzte Mal bei Dir geklappt hat mit einer vernünftigen Darstellung der Umlaute, irgendetwas an Deinen Fonts geändert?

@Billi ich bin vom Kindle DX Global auf den neuen Kindle DX Graphite umgestiegen, aber warum sollten die Umlaute auch auf dem PC kaputt sein? In Mobipocket (die Bücher sind ohne DRM) sind die Umlaute auch kaputt, das gleiche auf meinem Galaxy S mit dem Kindle for Android...

Alle anderen Bücher sind ok, nur diese kostenlosen nicht, schon strange, ich forsche mal weiter und probiere mal verschiedene Rechner/Betriebsysteme aus.

Nicht funktionierende Umlaute deuten oft auf ein Problem mit den Schriftfonts direkt oder mit der Deklaration (z.B. charset=utf-8 oder charset=iso-8859-1) in den Metadaten hin. Möglicherweise könnte sich das Problem lösen, wenn Du eine andere Schriftart wählst.

Ich wüsste nicht, dass man beim DX eine andere "Schriftart" wählen kann? Nur die Größe lässt sich ändern. Leider, denn ich find die Schrift eher bescheiden.

Nichtsdestotrotz habe ich mir noch ein paar andere Klassiker heruntergeladen und siehe da, heir gehen die Umlaute.

Sehr seltsam das ganze

Am 11.4. hat Amazon ca. 300 neue kostenlose Klassiker zur Verfügung gestellt, gestern weitere 550. Mir scheint, die übertragen in einem Affenzahn die gesamte Gutenbergbibliothek in ihren deutschsprachigen Shop. Die Qualität kommt mir nach einigen Stichproben ordentlich vor.

Karl Mays »Am Jenseits« haben sie entweder von Gutenberg.de oder hier aus dem Forum, denn dort findet sich der gleiche Scanfehler:

Diese Weit gehörte uns, denn da wir keine Seele bei uns hatten, konnte niemand sie uns streitig machen.

Übrigens inklusive aller Anmerkungen, die man bei Gutenberg.de inzwischen bei diesem Band überhaupt nicht mehr sehen, geschweige denn übernehmen kann.

Danke für den Hinweis, Alaska. Ich habe mal eine Frage: wie findest Du die Bücher im Shop. Ich lasse nach "german edition" suchen und bekomme eine lange Liste. Aber ich finde keine Möglichkeit weiter einzuschränken oder zu sortieren. Weder nach Publish Date noch nach Preis.

Ich meine natürlich auf dem Kindle. Mit PC und Browser ist mir das klar.

Danke für einen Tipp :-)

Keine Ahnung. Ich besorge mir die Bücher nicht über den Kindle, sondern über den Browser (dann wird er ja automatisch an den Kindle geschickt), sortiere dort nach Datum. Das ist alles noch nicht fertig oder gar kundenfreundlich, wenn man nach Autoren sucht, findet man diese kostenlose in der Edition gar nicht.

Ich hoffe, das wird mit dem deutschen Shop besser werden.
