Elonex 621EB screen shows 3 black squares - help please

Hi Guys,

I got a job lot of e book readers and this Elonex 621EB was part of it.

It looks in good condition, when you plug in the mini usb cable the red led comes on/off.

When you try to power it on 3 black squares appear and nothing else happens - see picture.

When you press the reset button, the screen flashes black, then goes white and the 3 black squares appear and nothing else happens it sits there like that.

Can this be saved and bought back to life?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Not really as their condition was reflected by the price

Presumably the 'squares' are a boot up progress bar or something like that?

Do these devices have a bootloader recovery mode?

Thx

I would suggest you try and get a firmware upgrade and follow the instructions to install it. The 3 bars do indeed look like progress bars and the internal firmware might be corrupt. You can look at our wiki and see if we have any data on this model but ultimately you will need to poke around on the manufacture web site or call support at that site.

FANTASTIC!!! It didn't seem to work at first but I then tried a different SD card and after sitting on 7 black squares for about a minute it started updating. Seems to be working ok now albeit a bit slow navigating through menus.

Right time to get reading

Thanks,

Mark
