Hi from New Zealand!!!

Hi to all from NZ!! Looks like a great forum to join. My PRS is on the way to me from Oz and I'll be asking for help as a 'Newbie' ebooker when it arrives

Hi Tam and welcome to the Forum. I got a 505 back in January and have grown to like it a lot. Also, you'll find lots of friendly advice and help here.

Ah! Although I have had my Kindle since February, I just bought a PRS 505 which should get to me in about a week. So the two of us will be embarking on the learning path for the Sony Reader and its tools.

It's good that you've found MobileRead. The forums are great and there are a *ton* of books available here. One reason why I wanted a Sony Reader was because of the number of books that have been posted here only in .lrf form. I know I could go back and build them in MobiPocket format for myself from the original files, but sometimes one just wants to read and not fuss with software!

Keep coming back. Tell us all about yourself, your life in New Zealand, and the books you read. We're mostly a very friendly bunch of folks and I, for one, am glad to see you've arrived.

Don't encourage Tam, Elsi! They'll start reclaiming all the internationally famous people in the entertainment business and artistic fields who actually come from New Zealand rather than Australia, and thus singlehandedly destroy Australia's reputation as a font of creative brilliance.

I think they put something in the water over there - being New Zealand, probably "freshness".

Cheers,
Marc

Thanx all, for the welcome! particularly Montsnmags who I quote "They'll start reclaiming all the internationally famous people in the entertainment business and artistic fields who actually come from New Zealand rather than Australia, and thus singlehandedly destroy Australia's reputation as a font of creative brilliance."

Dame Edna Everidge and Paul Hogan did a very good job of that without our help, Marc :-)
I see that Sony have now (or are about to!) launch the PRS505 in the UK, I've got a UK credit card so looks like I'll be able to buy the best-sellers from the Sony site in the UK soon. ;-) Books I read?? Still a newbie and can't face the 'freebie's like Sherlock Holmes
but in paper form Patrick O'brian, James Patterson, etc are more to my taste

Cheers

Tam
