Kobo aura page forward randomly dumps me 50 pages back.

Basically what the title says. In a number of ebooks flipping a page forward causes the kobo aura to jump back a number of pages. For example I'm reading a book and turning the page from 215 to 216, causes the reader to display page 173. Pressing back returns me to page 215 but I cannot progress unless I force skip page 216 and start reading from page 218 using the slider at the bottom of a page.


It happens in multiple books at random positions.


I'm guessing it's a formatting issue in the epub but I can't really find any tool to strip all chapters from an epub.

Any suggestions?
