Hey guys, great suggestions so far, they have been noted. Unfortunately we've locked down the scope of the release and were not able to add these in (I tried).

But this is the first of a series of updates that will add more features to the platform, so keep this thread alive and we'll try to get in as many as possible next time round.

Here's a radical and crazy idea: how about some quotes by female authors

I do not fear computers. I fear the lack of them. - Isaac Asimov

Writers should be read, but neither seen nor heard. - Daphne du Maurier

This is the sixth book I've written, which is not bad for a guy who's read only two. - George Burns

I think "Don't Panic" should be reserved (in large friendly lettering) for the display when the Kobo is switched off. If it were, I'd definitely switch mine off every now and then...

Charles (LOL at the H*R quote by the way...)

Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinder critics and philosophers of today - but the core of science fiction, its essence has become crucial to our salvation if we are to be saved at all.
Isaac Asimov

Sorry I couldn't help that.
Have you done something to make them go away? If so do share...

I don't see the quotes very often because I really HATE how long my Kobo takes to start up and then load a book. I always try to turn it on a few minutes before I want to read and then busy myself getting a drink, adjusting the light etc. Then I choose my book and then I rearrange the cushions, clean my glasses etc.
Only then do I look at the Kobo and start reading. Keeping busy makes those 48 seconds seem like 48 seconds and not 15 minutes.

Actually they are still there but they aren't there when the book is loading - I get the picture of the cover while the book is loading.

Are other people getting quotes?
