What's the point in cancelling and reordering? If the price goes down, you get it at the lower price anyway!

From the talk i had with CS you only get the lower of the pre-order price and release date price... if the price lowers below your initial pre-order and then goes back up (and still below pre-order price) you dont get that middle price where it was the lowest.
I know it does not make sense but that is what they made it out to believe.

That's it imo. They are testing the water to see what we will pay, how raising the price in this fashion affects sales, how much DRM we are willing to tolerate.

I think they want to see if we are willing to 'lease' books for $15. We never really own them because of the DRM (DRM server goes down, book disappears) and we can't re-sell them like we would a paper book. That's a win-win for the publishers.

That is not what the price guarantee says. It says you pay the LOWEST price between the order date and the ship date.
