Firmware 5.1 will solve this, screen rotation will be part of the firmware.
Should come in the next few weeks, because the Touches to be sold in Germany will be multilingual as K4 is.

Unhappy Kindle 5.0.4
Will you have an update for the new firmware that's just been released? The downloads don't work on my new kindle touch.

I hate 5.0.4 update
I can't believe this... the mp3 hack for rotation doesn't work in 5.0.4 update... what can I do with this? my kindle touch without landscaping mode is completely useless ...

I know it needs another hack.. I just found hack for 5.0.3 .. where can i find for 5.0.4 ?

Hi,
I updated my kindle touch firmware to 5.1. Before that, I have uninstalled all things I had there, except jailbreak. Then I installed KTRotate_0.1 (since 5.1 does not do auto rotate). Installation went OK (it said Update succesful), but after restart I got "Repair needed" screen. When connected to PC, USB drive shows up after restarts for few seconds.
Has somebody any idea how to repair this?

I think I have the same problem, except I got the "Your Kindle Needs Repair" message after trying to install KTRotate_0.2. Cross-posted here.

Yes, but only when reading book. Open your book, tap the menu, select "horizontal view" and enjoy landscape mode.

Well, I have my kindle working again! Replacing mmcblk0p1 and clearing of mmcblk0p3 did it.
Thanks to geekmaster and his great debricking posts!
