Who does the Author's Guild Work for?

After reading this article I have to wonder who does the Author Guild truly support. Can they be so ignorant, or do they truly support another organization?

http://www.authorsguild.org/advocacy...ht-battle.html

The Guild has not hesitated to cry foul when it has been pitted against the big nasty publishers crying for readers' support. However since I have been monitoring the guild it seems they chose to side with the distributors when it comes to dealing with customers.

What I cannot fathom is why the guild has chosen to support Macmillian, this deal hurts both readers and authors

Given that the Author's Guild was the one raising a stink about TTS being a public performance of a work and therefore violating copyright (http://www.authorsguild.org/advocacy...-kindle-2.html), I'd say the AG's collective head is planted rather firmly up their nether region.
