Alternate stylesheets
I was having a look at how alternate stylesheets are specified and implemented in HTML, and wondered if any ePUB reader supports them in any way (by which I mean their providing a way for the user to choose between the alternate stylesheets).
The current (2.0.1) spec only says that reading systems must support <link> elements with "rel" values "stylesheet" and "alternate stylesheet". The future version 3 adds the possibility of tagging the stylesheets with the "class" attribute. Has anyone tried anything about this? Do ePUB readers at least use only persistent and preferred stylesheets? Or do they treat all stylesheets the same and apply all at once, alternate or not? |

"User agents should allow users to select from alternate style sheets."
As we all know, "should" means, "You don't actually need to bother with this." |
