Jean Paul (1763-1825) – Des Luftschiffers Giannozzo Seebuch!
Ursprünglich nur im zweiten Anhangband des Titan (1800/01) veröffentlicht. – Dafür ist es aber zu schade! Das kleine Werk gehört immerhin zum Besten, was Jean Paul zu bieten hat.

Dem oben Spaß mit Nietzsche wünschenden pynch gewidmet, weil ohne seine handwerklichen Hinweise dieser Omnibus aus allen Gedichtbänden des Dichters gar nicht entstanden wäre:

Das Verbrechen des Paters Amaro, (1875) oder gar Vetter Basilio, (1878) wären zwar noch interessanter, sind aber leider als e-Text nicht auf Deutsch verfügbar.

Bei den Spaniern sieht's übrigens nicht viel besser aus. Außer einem (von mir bereits hochgeladenem Werk) von Pérez Galdós ist lediglich Blasco Ibañez (3 Werke) noch bei gut-de zu finden.

Schade! Dabei hätte der iberische Realismus und Naturalismus viele hervorragende Werke zu bieten!

Otto Ruppius (1819–1864): deutscher Schriftsteller - beiderseits des Atlantik
Im Gegensatz beispielsweise zu Balduin Möllhausen war Otto Rupius als "Revolutionsflüchtling von 1849" nur im "zivilisierten Teil" Amerikas.

In seinen zahlreichen Romanen und Erzählungen thematisierte er - in zum Teil recht realistischer Sprache - die Schicksale deutscher Auswanderer. Die beiden vorliegenden Werke erschienen bereits vor seiner Rückkehr (1861) nach Deutschland.

Der Pedlar - Erstdruck: Berlin (Duncker) 1859. Erschien in New York bereits 1857.
