Slow .lit page turns?

I've installed the latest operating system (v3) on my BeBook (same as Hanlin).

I find that the more pages the book has, the longer it takes to turn a page!

One book takes 11 seconds to turn a page, another 7 seconds.

It takes a few minutes to go directly to the large page!

Anybody else has the same problem? A way to fix this?

Thanks

LIT on a PC or PPC has to generate the page numbers on the fly the first time the eBook is read. It is done in the background and if you try and jump before it is finished it will be really slow. Have you waited until the eBook pages are generated before you tried jumping? I suspect this may be the same.

Wierd, I have absolutley no problems with pageturning on .lit's pn my BeBook. Screen just flashes black, and less than a second later, new page is up, regardless of what book I read.

And I'm running the latest firmware. 1.27 V3 I think

You have to have 1.27 (at least) - it's the first version, which supports lit files ...

I've seen this, and reported it to BeBook - in my case it was taking 14 seconds to turn the page. No solution though, and the firmware with mobipocket support was slightly worse too

Best solution (though by no means perfect) was to explode the .LIT file and turn it into an ePub using the delit script.

Smile Still slow .lit on latest firmware - switch to Mobi !

I installed the latest firmware from mybebook.com (find it under "news" I think).

But the .lit pages still takes 12 seconds to turn ??

I am switching to Mobi reader now.

The desktop program makes downloading from any (most?) ebook stores a breaze.

It also makes it easy to send all your books to your mobile readers.

Try it - you'll be happy !
