Backing off 5.3.2 then jailbreaking, how?

On a Kindle Touch, how does one downgrade the 5.3.2 firmware and then install the jailbreak to fix the margins in both Mobi and KF8?

Will 5.3.2 jailbroken cause new firmware updates (if there are any) to fail?

With 7 years membership here and nearly 12million in karma - you should be telling us.

1)
The Kindle Touch (a.k.a: K5) can be downgraded by treating it as 'bricked' and following the debricking guides for that model.
Also see: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=203971

The Kindle Paperwhite (a.k.a: K5 in some places here) can not, at this time, be 'debricked' with the same methods.

Here, "Jailbreak" means something a bit different than in other places that you read the word.
Here, it means adding the MobileRead developer certificate for checking the signature of installation packages.
That's it, nothing else, just a signature certificate (in most cases anyway).

Fixing margins on anything requires custom packages.
Which require the above described developer certificate to install.

If the custom package involves a "Kindlet" (a Java application), then you also need to install the "Kindlet Jailbreak".
Since the Java Kindlet permissions are also signed.

2) Not likely.
But some of the custom packages it allows you to add might.
No way to know until that upgrade comes out.
