Doh... I have broken the stylus for my iRex (or shoudl I say, one of my children have...) Anyway, half of it is stuck in the back of the iRex still. I can't get it out and can't tell what kind of screws they have used on the back of the product. Any ideas?? I know this is not a warranty thing as the styus was snapped in half and then forced back into the iRex

Any ideas as the where I might obtain the correct sized screw driver would be helpful. At the moment my iRex is nothing more than a $1200 paperweight.

Ouch! Hope the kid has learned that breaking Daddy's toys is not condusive to a happy life...

I can't help you, unfortunately, but there was a relatively recent thread about increasing the iLiad's battery capacity, which obviously meant taking the machine apart. Might be worth trying to find that thread and asking the person involved about the tools used.

I would guess that even getting a replacement stylus isn't going to help you, because if memory serves me correctly, the iLiad disables the touch screen while the stylus is in its slot, so you're going to have to get the thing out, one way or another .

Almost all DIY stores sell the screwdriver you need, just take you're ILiad to you're local hardware-store. Those usually cost something like 5 dollar. While you're there you might want to buy some glue.

- Two of the sides (flipbar and bottom) are kept together with those snap-clip-thingies. You might need a creditcard or 2 to release them. Start with the bottom 2, then the other 3 are easy)

http://sites.google.com/site/iliaddeveloper/fig1.jpg (v1 back-side screwholes. The v2 has less screws(8), but those that are there are at the same places)

- Take you're time, the screen is fragile.

Good luck
