Brave New Worlds, an anthology of dystopian fiction, is now $1.99 at Amazon.com (previous price was 10.49 according to ereaderiq). Heads up, I see from one of the Amazon reviews that it is missing 4 stories that are in the print edition (due to digital rights issues) and doesn't have a table of contents.

This may be a carry-over from December, but The Shining is (still?) $1.99 at Amazon.

Den of Thieves: The Ancient Blades Trilogy: Book One by David Chandler has dropped to $0.99 at Amazon US and probably elsewhere.
Quote:
Remember this name: David Chandler. With Den of Thieves, the first book in his astounding fantasy series, The Ancient Blades Trilogy, Chandler immediately establishes himself as a major player in the world of action-rich epic fantasy—right up there alongside George R. R. Martin, R. A. Salvatore, and Raymond E. Feist. An enthralling and wonderfully gritty tale of cutpurses, knights and demons, witches, betrayals, and darkest intrigue—in the popular vein of the bestselling works of Brent Weeks, Joe Abercrombie, and Scott Lynch—Den of Thieves introducers readers to Malden, an amiable young criminal whose one grave mistake bonds him to the lord of the underworld and sets him on an impossible quest that will most likely lead the hapless thief to his doom.

Afterlife: The Resurrection Chronicles by Merrie Destefano has dropped to $0.99 at Amazon US and probably elsewhere.
Quote:
Bladerunner meets Jim Butcher in Afterlife, a thrilling urban fantasy noir adventure set in an alternate world where everyone gets nine lives. In the vein of J. D. Robb’s bestselling ‘In Death’ series, author Merrie Destefano blends a futuristic concept with gritty noir mystery for a riveting story of murder, conspiracy, and multiple-resurrections that will appeal equally to fantasy, science fiction, and mystery fans. Even paranormal romance lovers will find something to love in Destefano’s extraordinary Afterlife.

Six Moon Dance by Sheri Tepper [HarperCollins] is $1.99 at most retailers.

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/six-...=9780062035011

http://www.amazon.com/Six-Moon-Dance...six+moon+dance

Quote:

It was many years ago that humans came and settled the world of Newholme-cruelly bending the planet to their will; setting down roots and raising up cities and farms and a grand temple to their goddess. But now the ground itself is shaking with ever-increasing violence. And the Great Questioner, official arbiter of the Council of Worlds, has come to this isolated orb to investigate rumors of a terrible secret that lies buried deep within Newholme's past—a past that is not dead, not completely. And it will fall to Mouche, a beautiful youth of uncommon cleverness and spirit, to save his imperiled home by dicovering and embracing that which makes him unique among humans. For every living thing on newholme is doomed, unless Mouche can appease something dark and terrible that is coiled within...and surrender to the mysterious ecstatic revelry taht results when the six moons join.

Bundle of Holding is repeating its +3 bundle from June 2013. The Bonus price is $10.43 as of this post, but will probably rise. This will only be available for the next 37 hours or so as of this post.

Quote:
Adventurer! After months of wandering, the fellowship of Adventurous Scribes returns to bring you once again the Bundle of Holding +3, our June 2013 collection of 15 novels, novellas, and story collections by leading tabletop roleplaying game designers. In case you didn't hear about these imaginative stories last summer, we've cast a 9th-level resurrection spell to give you a new chance. For just US$4.95, you get all five books in our core collection in DRM-free Kindle, ePub, and .PDF versions:
  • Doc Wilde and the Frogs of Doom, a globetrotting pulp adventure featuring Spartacus Wilde by former White Wolf staff writer Tim Byrd.
  • The Knight's Tale and The Magus's Tale, the first two books in the fantasy series Oathbreaker by Colin McComb (Planescape, Torment).
  • A Prayer for Dead Kings, a collection of Endlands fantasy tales by Scott Fitzgerald Gray (Tomb of Horrors).
  • Tales of the Far West, edited by Gareth-Michael Skarka, the first anthology of stories from the new wuxia-Western setting Far West. The book features stories by Scott Lynch, Matt Forbeck, Chuck Wendig, Dave Gross, and more.

And if you pay more than the threshold price of $10.43, you'll level up and receive our entire collection of nine bonus books:
  • The Afterlife series of five novellas (Heaven, Hell, Earth, Wasteland, and War) by John W. Campbell Award nominee Mur Lafferty. This bundle marked the debut of the Afterlife omnibus volume.
  • Dangerous Games 1: How to Play, a Gen Con murder mystery by Matt Forbeck (Brave New World).
  • Delta Green: Strange Authorities, Cthulhoid espionage fiction by Delta Green co-creator John Scott Tynes.
  • New Tales of the Yellow Sign by GUMSHOE and Hillfolk designer Robin D. Laws (foreword by Kenneth Hite), a collection of all-new stories that pay tribute to the classic 1895 proto-Lovecraftian book by Robert W. Chambers, The King in Yellow.
  • Switchflipped, a journey behind reality by Unknown Armies co-designer Greg Stolze.

And remember, even if you already bought this collection back in June, now you can send a Bundle of Holding as a gift. These ebooks are suitable for any tablet, phone, or ereader, and they make great gifts at any time of year.

Infinity Beach by Jack McDevitt (HarperCollins) is $0.99 at US retailers. (At OmniLit it also counts toward your buy-ten-get-one-free total).
Quote:
We are alone. That is the verdict, after centuries of Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence missions and space exploration. The only living things in the Universe are found on the Nine Worlds settled from Earth, and the starships that knit them together. Or so it's believed, until Dr. Kimberly Brandywine sets out to find what happened to her clone-sister Emily, who, after the final, unsuccessful manned SETI expedition, disappeared along with the rest of her ship's crew.

Following a few ominous clues, Kim discovers the ship's log was faked. Something happened out there in the darkness between the stars, and she's prepared to go to any length to find answers. Even if it means giving up her career...stealing a starship...losing her lover. Kim is about to discover the truth about her sister -- and about more than she ever dared imagine.

Dead Man's Deal by Jocelynn Drake is on sale for $1.99 at Amazon. This is the second in the Asylum Tales urban fantasy series. The first book, Angel's Ink, was free at some point last year. Interesting world-building, and if you like tattoos, you'll probably enjoy the magic system.

Metas: The Complete Series by Kelly Meding is a boxed set of the 1st four books in the Meta-Wars series. It's only $8.89 on Amazon. I was looking at buying some of the individual books because they were showing up as part of the Big Deal but they were still over $5 each.

This series is about superheroes. I haven't read any of these books yet but I have read her Dreg City series and really enjoyed them.

Newly free everywhere (Baen Free Library)
Freehold (Freehold Series) by Michael Z. Williamson

Sergeant Kendra Pacelli is innocent, but that doesn't matter to the repressive government pursuing her. Mistakes might be made, but they are never acknowledged, especially when billions of embezzled dollars earned from illegal weapons sales are at stake.
