Diane Duane and Peter Morwood's books are 66% off today.

code: BLACKCYBER gives a 66% discount of anything at their ebook store.

The discount code isn't entered or applied until after you come back from the paypal payment screen - there are instructions and screenshots in a link on the left. It's a bit scary, but the discount does get done before you click the final Buy Now button at their web site.

High school student Chris Dunmeyer though he was smart, athletic and good looking. The tests that showed that he was genetically engineered came as a shock. Bad enough he wasn't allowed to compete in sports, was shunned as a techno monster. But now the majority wants "his kind" gone. And with the new parallel world technology, it looks like there's a place to send them.

Exiled from Earth, the genetically engineered colonists and the escaped "gods" find their parallel Earth a challenge, a paradise, and an opportunity to explore the abilities their genetic engineering has blessed, or cursed, them with.

Includes two shorter works in the same (Wine of the Gods series) world.

Neil Gaiman's Stardust is $1.99 at B&N, Amazon and Kobo (not couponable in the US).

Quote:
In the sleepy English countryside, at the dawn of the Victorian Era, life moves at a leisurely pace in the tiny town of Wall, so named for an imposing stone barrier that divides the village from an adjacent meadow. Armed sentries guard the sole gap in this wall, in order to keep the curious from wandering through. Here in Wall, young Tristran Thorn has lost his heart to beautiful Victoria Forester. But Victoria is cold and distant - as distant, in fact, as the star she and Tristran see fall from the sky on a crisp October evening. For the coveted prize of Victoria's hand, Tristran vows to retrieve the fallen star and deliver it to his beloved. It is an oath that sends the lovelorn swain over the ancient wall, and propels him into a world that is strange beyond imagining. But Tristran is not the only one seeking the heavenly jewel. There are those for whom it promises youth and beauty, the key to a kingdom, and the rejuvenation of dark, dormant magics. And a lad compelled by love will have to keep his wits about him to succeed and survive in this secret place where fallen stars come in many guises - and where quests have a way of branching off in unexpected directions, even turning back upon themselves in space and in time.

for those who saw the movie version, it was okay, and a few characters (like robert de niro's) really stood out. that being said, the book is ever so much better. no goofy humor, but neil gaiman writing about magic with a little romance thrown in.

Thanks, bought from Kobo. I love the movie but never read the novel.

I've never had a problem buying from Diesel with a New Zealand address either, regardless of what the "Allowed Countries" list for the book says.
