Well I signed up for $7.99. I have Netflix as well and I will probably cancel with them for streaming which is the same price.

I have to keep Blockbuster though because of the local store where I rent Blu Rays to watch on my HD display.

Amazon Prime is costing amazon so much that they lost money last quarter:

They may have to cancel the Amazon Prime program to become profitable again. Raising the price of Amazon Prime, or raising the price of products to compensate for free shipping, may both be even more unpopular than cancelling the program.

Katie, they stopped doing it already. Sunday was the last day. Also some people had cookie issues that would make only the yearly price appear. Those people had to clear their cookies then try for monthly
