iPad How do you do that what

For anyone with UI questions about the ipad, I guess feel free to ask here

My problem is how to delete a photo from within the ipad. I did it once, but I can't remember the gesture. Can you also delete a song?

Also alarms. My ordinary clock broke down & I don't know how to get the iPad to put out a loud noise

I cant get it to do album cover for most my music either. No ideas really?
