About translation and error messages
Hi, folks, this is my first message and for precaution, I apologize in advance in case of messaging out place.
I work with e-books since 2009 and now I'm working on a translation of the epubcheck error messages. Calibre has a lot of these messages translated for portuguese and I don't wanna use other technical terms, I prefer to use the existing technical terms to avoid confusion. So, I'm digging the code for the file where the validator keeps its messages and solutions (and its translations). Would someone indicate the file or folder where it resides? Thanks in advance |

I'm confused calibre has no epubcheck error messages. calibre makes no use of epubcheck at all. If you are referring to error messages from the Check Book tool in the calibre editor, they have nothing to do with epubcheck, whatsoever.

You have bogus values entered in those places:
Look the the CSS rules for font-weight: (I cant read the CSS value) normal, bold are common values Look at the CSS rules for page-break-before, page-break-after never is not valid. avoid is good |

Hi, theducks, thanks for your reply, but I'm not searching for solutions to the file problems, I'm searching for the file that countains these error messages because I'm translating the epub check and want to use the same nomenclature.
Anyway, thanks again! |

See: https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibre-translations
It contains all the *.po files used in localizing calibre. |

You dont need to find the file, you can contribute translations directly via the Transifex web interface, here: https://www.transifex.com/calibre/calibre/main/
Just choose your language and then search for the string you want to correct. Details on how translations work in calibre are here: http://calibre-ebook.com/get-involved |

The OP seemingly wants to pull already-localized error mesages (that someone else has figured out how to word) from calibre to reuse in a new project.
Given that, I figured working with po files is probably more useful than transifex. |
