PRS-300 keeps restarting

I just added about 15-20 or so files to my prs-300 in Callibre. Files were .rtfs, and .epubs. I also did some deleting of ebooks already on there (by default and files i added).

Now my prs-300 is continuously restarting. It's also not giving me a chance to choose any options. It just restarts over and over. Any ideas of what's the problem? Should I reset?

Okay I think I've solved the problem. It stopped restarting when I reconnected to my comp and deleted all of the ebooks. Started up again when I added all the ebooks that were deleted. Anyway I now only have .epubs on it and it is no longer restarting. So I think it was the .rtfs that caused it. Will play around with it a little to see.

Edit:

Added 1 .pdf and 1.rtf that were on it when the restarting started, but the problem is still gone. The .rtf wasn't able to open though. It hung on formatting, then went back to options.

I found the problem. One of the .rtfs had symbols like {/ in it.

good to know why these machines hang sometimes.

I think its better just to add a few files at a time.

weird. This week I put over 200 LRFs on the PRS300, using Calibre; no problems at all.

When mine does this (PRS-505) I search for the cache folders and delete the media.xml files. That usually stops it. (I think I cause this situation when I remove books from the memory directly using my PC without removing it it through the reader's menu.)

Hope it helps

My PRS-600 started to do this as soon as I loaded a few MP3 files onto its installed 4GB MS Pro Duo card. I finally tracked the problem down to specific MP3 file names and/or data in the ID3 fields of the files. Cleaning the filenames and their MP3 tags sorted the problem.
