How to install .pbi?

Hi all,

Just got my PB Touch and purchased the Abbyy RU-EN dictionary from the Obreey store. Now I don't know how to install it. The official instructions says to copy the .pbi to the applications directory on the PB, which I did, and then go to Applications and select the file. But the file isn't listed there. I also tried to go via "Photo" and then navigating to /applications, but it isn't visible this way either. So how to install it?

The PB is running D622.3.2.130 20120919_140447.

Hello,

i've tested it and it works: copy the xyz.pbi to /applications directory, disconnect the PB Touch and goto "Applications" on the PB. Now you should see your "xyz" to install it.

Regards
Ronny

Hi Ronny,

Are you really running 3.2.130 firmware like it says in your sig?

I have tried rebooting several times also and the file still doesn't show up.

Perhaps I should update to the latest firmware?

Hi,
I had a similar issue with a browser shortcut in /applications folder. When Pocketbook had a problem with some file in this folder it wouldn't display it again despite the file was edited and repaired.
Try to remove the file from PB, reboot the reader, copy the file back to PB, reboot again. Or to rename the file.
Here's the description of my issue: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=196763
Best regards.

Hi,

It worked when copying the file to the root folder instead of the /applications folder. Thanks for the pointer to the other thread.

I also get a warning whenever I connect the device via USB that the drive should be scanned and repaired -which I have not yet dared to do. I got this the very first instance I connected the device. Any advice on if this is safe to do from a Windows desktop?
