Video: Sony Tablet S and Sony Tablet P at IFA 2011
Sony is bringing some interesting designs concepts to the Tablet market, with the Sony Tablet S that has a bump on the back to be more holdable with one hand, the Sony Tablet P that has a dual 5.5″ screen, prices start at 479€ and go up to 599€ for these tablets that use Tegra2 at 1Ghz, they have no HDMI output or USB host.

I saw their table at HHGregg and fell in love with it. I liked the back of the tablet it was also very easy to hold.

The more I see that dual-screen device...the more it grows on me. I just think it looks snazzy as all get out.

Neat toy. Too bad they can't make the screens join seamlessly.

That clamshell is really nice. I've liked the idea ever since the images where leaked a few months ago. But I do also know that I won't like the price...

Sony is getting serious again. That dual-screen version looks good and super-portable. Very tempting!

1. They want people to buy separate devices for the HDMI video-on-demand stuff like the Google TV box or some Blu-ray player. 2. Nvidia Tegra2 is not very good at playing back 1080p video anyway (no high profile high bitrates h264 mkv support) so for HDMI stuff and overall better performance, Sony should have chosen a newer faster processor. Seeing the clamshell in action I finally understand the appeal (you might think, since I have a clamshell Pocket eDGe, I would have gotten it sooner, but very different devices). Love the 2-page reader application!

I tried out the 9 inch tablet at the Sony store the other day, and I was also very impressed with it. If you pre order it you get a snazzy Target leather case with it, too. If I were to get an android tablet, and money weren't an issue, this would be the one I'd get. I'm very excited about the clamshell tablet as well. I'll be sure to check it out in store when I get a chance. I wonder if the reader software will sync pages with the new PRS T1...
