Release 0.7.54 - Mobi self-closing tags
Bug fix:
"MOBI Output: Don't use self closed tags" Does this mean I won't be able to use
and
? I hope not because I use the
tag a lot. |

What this means is the MOBI HTML created won't create
. It will be written as

. This does not affect what tags you use in HTML input as your input is transformed into equivalent markup that is valid for MOBI.
To be clear self closing tags such as
are not valid for MOBI so calibre will turn them into separate opening and closing tags,

. |

Thank you very much for your quick and concise answer.
I have been using
for years and my Mobi books have always presented correctly even though you say these self-closing breaks are not valid for Mobi. I am much relieved that I can continue working as before. |
