Greetings from Texas
Shoulda posted here first I suppose didn't see it.
Names Jonathon, currently residing in Texas serving in the national guard. After a lot of discussion with the wife she decided to let me buy an ebook reader as I have a lot of traveling I do and lugging a bag of books around is heavy and not convenient. And with us facing our first deployment soon I need to have a way to carry a lot of books with me without a lot of space taken. So far these forums have been a huge help in narrowing down I think I finally decided but I'm going to research a little more first |

Hi Jonathon,
Good to see another new face. What are you considering getting? I've tried three different styles now and to be honest they all have their pros and cons. The bottom line seems to be that the popular options all seem OK once you're actually reading, and it's the words that count most in the end. A great gadget won't rescue a bad book, but a good book is still a worthwhile read even if it's not on your first choice of reading device. Best of luck with your research and choice. Chris |

Hi jduvall and welcome to MobileRead. I've had a Sony 505 for over two years and really like it.

Welcome, Jonathan. Lots of Texans on MR.
Be sure to get a library card because you can download free ebooks from anywhere in the world from your library site. Some military libraries also provide Overdrive, depending on where you go. I used to ship tons of books and now I have an entire library in one little package. It was the best investment I've made in a long time. Good luck and enjoy! |

Good to have your company, JDuvall. Whatefver reader you go for, you'll find it makes one heck of a difference to a travelling man. Good luck. Neil
