Next-gen Kindle Fire specs revealed (yes, the "baby" Fire)
After leaked specs of the next-gen Kindle Fire HD, here are the leaked specs of the non-HD, entry-level variant aka the baby Fire, as I like to call it.
  • CPU: 1.5GHz dual-core Texas Instruments OMAP4 4470 processor with PowerVR SGX544 graphics
  • Screen: 1,280 x 800 pixels
  • RAM: 1GB
  • Android: 4.2.2 JB

This entry level kindle is still an hd tablet. The 1280×800 is hd, the 1920×1200 is full hd(fhd).

Despite the naysayers, this looks like an okay tablet tablet, if the predicted price of $159 is correct, but folks who can scrape around 50% more buck together would probably be much happier with the new Nexus 7.

We got a Fire HD 8.9" tab for my kid after he wore out his gen 1 Fire. Wire is a little jealous and might want an even bigger one. With a BT keyboard, she may abandon her laptop.

I'm hoping a jelly bean Fire will be able to tab-cast to my new Chromecast.
