Buchclub - Vorgespräch zur Themenwahl 2014

Auch nächstes Jahr soll der Buchclub weitergeführt werden, dafür müssen 6 neue Buchthemen gewählt werden, damit wir alle zwei Monate ein Buch auswählen können. Ab dem 1. Januar beginnt der Buchclub dann wieder mit dem Vorgespräch zum Februar-Buch.

Das Verfahren wird das gleiche, wie für die Bücherwahl sein, d.h. wir führen ein Vorgespräch, eine Nominierung und eine abschließende Abstimmung durch.

Zeitplan Themenwahl:

20. Oktober (Heute!) - Start für das Vorgespräch (14 Tage)

3. November - Nominierung (7 Tage)

10. November - Abstimmung (14 Tage) (Keine Stichwahl, der Zeitpunkt der Unterstützung entscheidet bei Gleichstand über die Reihenfolge.)

Ich hatte mir in den letzten Wochen einige Leserunden angeschaut, ganz interessant fand ich es auch, die Themen mal abseits der Genres zu wählen, also z.B. das Thema Wald, Meer oder auch die Farbe Rot.

Was ich persönlich auch wieder gerne dabei hätte, wäre Science Fiction diesmal vielleicht auf das 21. Jhd. beschränkt.

Auch insgesamt würde ich mir mehr aktuellere Bücher wünschen.

Science Fiction ist immer gut. Und bitte möglichst ohne tote Autoren, es sei denn, sie waren im 21. Jahrhundert noch schreibender Weise aktiv.

Ja. Volle Zustimmung von mir. Ich gestehe, dass ich nicht so wirklich der Klassiker-Fan bin.

Ich würde mir Fantasy wünschen. Das ist ja ein sehr breites Feld. Aktuell gehen wohl Elfen, Trolle und Orks gut, aber so was mag ich gar nicht lesen. Auch nichts über super sexy Vampire. Ich dächte da eher an "Urban Fantasy", d. h. Fantasy, die sozusagen mit einem Fuß in der realen Welt steht, also nichts, was in einer völlig erfundenen Welt spielt wie z. B. der Hobbit. Neil Gaiman wäre ein gutes Beispiel für dieses Subgenre.

Dann aber wenigstens ein paar Werwölfe mit Identitätsstörungen!

Bei Urban Fantasy hätte ich einen Tip: Wen Spencer: Tinker
Das Problem - das Buch gibt es zwar auf Deutsch, aber nur als Toter-Baum-Ausgabe ... - und auch nur noch antiquarisch, obwohl es erst 2010 bei Heyne erschien. Als ebook ist es nur auf Englisch verfügbar.

Von den Buchvorschlägen sind wir noch weit entfernt, es geht erst mal nur um die Themen für 2014. Überlege dir lieber ob du nicht beim nächsten Buch für den Dezember mitmachen möchtest, Thema Abenteuerroman, Vorgespräch beginnt am 1. November, Leserunde am 1. Dezember.

Urban Fantasy halten wir dann schon mal fest! Trolls Vorschlag, das Thema einfach heimlich festzulegen, ziehe ich in Erwägung.

Fantasy ist ein schönes Thema - für mich bitte mit wenig oder gar keinem Drachen - bin auch in diesem Genre nicht wirklich bewandert, mag aber z.B. Autoren wie Elizabeth Moon (gibt es, glaube ich, leider nicht auf deutsch) und Patrick Rothfuss.

Ein weiteres Thema wäre Krimi/Thriller.

Und natürlich auch Horror - und ja, eher nicht in Richtung dieser wie die Pilze sprießenden modernen Vampirgeschichten, die mag ich überhaupt nicht

Im englischen Forum gibt es auch die Rubrik "Sachbücher", und da waren schon etliche gut zu lesende und interessante Monatsauswahlen dabei. Bei Sachbüchern würde ich mir allerdings absolut keine Ratgeber-Bücher wünschen

Die alternative Themenauswahl nach "Baum", "Farbe" etc. klingt auch gut (könnte man ja mal für einen Monat austesten), allerdings stelle ich es mir schwierig vor, da ein passendes Buch vorzuschlagen, weil man es dann eigentlich schon gelesen haben müsste, und das sollte ja nicht der Sinn sein. Oder was meint ihr, ginge das auch ohne inhaltliche Vorkenntnis?

Das ist eigentlich gar nicht so schwer, seit es das Internet gibt.

Ich habe mal das Wort "Baum" bei phantatstik-couch.de in die Suche eingegeben.

Ergebnis: 73 Treffer, u.a. Terry Brooks: Der Baum der Talismane, H. G. Wells: Der Apfel vom Baum der Erkenntnis, Stephen R. Donaldson: Der einsame Baum... Kenne ich alle nicht.

Ich hatte mir schon überlegt, ob ich z.B. London, New York oder eine Region als Thema vorschlage. Das wäre auch eine Möglichkeit.

Sachbücher finde ich immer sehr schwierig, da gehen vielleicht die Interessen noch weiter auseinander als bei den Büchern.

Sachbücher kann viel sein, Kochbuch bis Kernspaltungsanleitung.

Stell ich mit sehr interessant vor.
Ich würde noch Biographien in den Ring werfen.

Ah, jetzt verstehe ich - also titelbezogen. Klar, das geht dann. Ich hatte mir vorgestellt, dass der jeweilige Begriff im Buch das Hauptthema sein sollte bzw. der rote Faden, an dem die Handlung entlangführt.
