Ist das nicht was fuer Kritikers damit die eine neue Liste machen koennen?

Ich les was mir gefaellt, ist doch egal was. Lieber einen Schundroman lesen als vor der Klotze hocken.

Und viele von den Buechern die zu den Klassikern oder Weltliteratur gehoeren sind mir einfach zu droeg.

Da schließe ich mich doch auch mal an!

In meinem Musikgeschmack und in der Auswahl meines Lesestoffs orientiere ich mich lediglich an dem was mir gefällt.

Entsprechend breitbandig ist meine Musik- und Büchersammlung. Das einordnen in Kategorien und Schubladen überlasse ich den Theoretikern und Kritikern. Sollen sie damit glücklich werden

Ich lese natürlich auch was mir gefällt. Aber ich finde solche Auflistungen helfen einem schon manchmal das ein oder andere gute Buch zu entdecken.

Als Literaturwissenschaftsstudent (Spanisch & Englisch) habe ich mich doch mit einigen Klassikern der Weltliteratur auseinandergesetzt und ich wurde wirklich meist positiv überrascht, wie zeitlos gut geschrieben und interessant zu lesen diese "alten Schmöker" sind, etwa die Shakespeare-Dramen.

Der Unterschied zu vielen "normalen" Büchern ist ja aber auch nicht, dass sie besonders spannend geschrieben wären oder besonders ausgefallene Plots hätten. Zur Weltliteratur wird ein Buch durch seine kulturelle und vor allem literaturwissenschaftliche Bedeutung.

Viele Werke der Weltliteratur sind dann auch in der Hinsicht interessant, dass sie zahlreiche weitere Werke beeinflussen oder in ihnen "zitiert" werden. Wer etwa den Herr der Ringe gelesen hat, wird in vielen heutigen Fantasy-Büchern wieder Elemente davon finden. Das gleiche natürlich mit Faust, Don Quijote, etc. Sehr spannend ist in dem Zusammenhang auch die Bibel - es gibt wohl kein anderes Buch, auf das so häufig angespielt wird.

Das ist natürlich auch ein Haken: Gerade bei Klassikern, die schon mehrere Jahrhunderte in den Seiten haben , benötigt man oft kommentierte Ausgaben bzw. die entsprechende Sekundärliteratur, um ihren "literarischen Wert" voll auskosten zu können.

Per se etwa lässt sich Don Quijote als einfache Satire des Ritterromans oder gleich als lustige Kindergeschichte lesen. Seit ich in ihn aber mit Kommentaren gelesen habe und mich in Seminaren mit ihm näher auseinandergesetzt habe, halte ich ihn schlichweg für ein kongeniales Meisterwerk Das funktioniert aber nicht immer - ich glaube etwa Effi Briest könnte ich mir noch so genau anschauen, da würde der Funke einfach nicht überspringen...

Das jetzt alles aus den Augen eines "angehenden Literaturwissenschaftlers" - also nicht dass ich planen würde, einer zu werden

Was hier im Thread als "Weltliteratur" bezeichnet wird, müsste man vielleicht drei Kategorien gliedern:

- Die ganz persönliche Weltliteratur (im Sinne von Lieblingsbücher)
- Die klassische Weltliteratur (im Sinne der literaturwissenschaftlich bedeutensten Bücher)
- Die Bestseller-Weltliteratur (im Sinne von global erfolgreichen Büchern alà Harry Potter)

Dass diese drei Kategorien nur teilweise Schnittmengen haben, ist klar.

Ich widme mich jetzt dann wieder meiner Magisterarbeit zur spanischen Literaturwissenschaft ("Der spanische Bürgerkriegsroman der Gegenwart - Javier Cercas, Ramiro Pinilla, Isaac Rosa") und wünsche allen viel Spaß beim Lesen - egal welche "Weltliteratur"

Also, meine ganz persönliche Weltliteratur ist erschreckend uneinheitlich. Das geht von Burroughs und Haggard über Malraux and St. Ex bis zu May und Effi Briest. Das könnte ich echt niemand anderem nahelegen als nur mir selbst, nach dem Motto: Was mir gefällt, ist auch gut !
